YWLC Year-Round Programming
YWCA Hartford Region’s YW Leadership Corps (YWLC) provides a personal development program during the academic school year for youth (ages 13-18) throughout the Hartford Region.
Youth learn critical life skills through project-based workshops, focusing on financial literacy, college and career exploration, advocacy, team building and personal leadership development. Our program empowers youth, fosters teamwork, personal enrichment and builds lifelong friends in a fun, supportive and safe space.
During the academic year, you’ll have the opportunity to engage in exciting activities, including:
- Workshops on personal growth, leadership development, decision-making, goal-setting and interpersonal skills
- Financial literacy, including how to budget and save
- College and career exploration, including college tours
- Introduction to civic engagement, advocacy and the chance to work together on community service projects
- Learn from local leaders who will lead inspirational trainings and workshops, including networking and interview skills, public speaking and their journey to becoming leaders in the Hartford community.
