We offer two exciting new programs, free for individuals 18 years and older to prepare for careers in the high demanding—and highly desirable—world of digital skills-based jobs. Participants must have a high school diploma or GED.

YW Tech Lab

YW Tech Lab will help unlock the door to exciting career opportunities in the highly demanding world of digital experiences. The program offers free training to prepare you for a career in web design and digital skills through a three-month certification process You’ll receive hands-on experience, an introduction to web design and other digital skills, and make connections with your classmates.

Once training is complete, we’ll work with you to explore job opportunities and connect you with companies hiring trained web designers and other digital-based skills.

You’ll receive training from experts in the field and will learn through both independent work and collaborative team projects. The program helps build critical skills while making lifelong friends in a supportive, fun classroom. Throughout the course, you’ll learn the skills to help you embark on an exciting new career. Lessons include:

  • Computer Networking
  • Cyber Security
  • Operating Systems
  • Networking Skills
  • Systems Administration
  • Technical Support
  • Workforce Development Skills


YW Tech Lab is a hybrid program, offered via Google Meets to strengthen your Google Classroom experience, as well as in-person classes. Our in-person classes are located at YWCA Hartford Region, 135 Broad Street, Hartford.

YWCA Career Women offers another opportunity to launch a digital career through Google’s Coursera certification program!

YW Tech Lab’s Coursera program helps you earn a Google Career Certificate through an online training course that allows you to learn at your own pace. The flexibility allows you to learn digital and technical skills that work best for your schedule and prepares you for careers in high-demand IT and other digital-skills jobs.

You can choose among the following classes to receive your Coursera Google IT certification:

  • IT Certificate 
  • Data Analytics 
  • Project Management 
  • UX Design 
  • Automation with Python 
  • Digital Marketing & E-commerce
