Senate Bill 957 an Act Concerning the Oversight of Health Care in Correctional Institutions by the Department of Public Health had its public hearing on February 22. YWCA Hartford Region supported the passage of Public Act No. 22-133, which required that “Not later than January 1, 2023, the commissioner shall develop a plan for the provision of health care services.” This legislative session, Regulate DOC (department of corrections) Healthcare CT Coalition is working to ensure better health outcomes for incarcerated individuals and returning citizens and improve work conditions for DOC Healthcare workers.
